There once was a King who called for the Spring
옛날 옛적에 봄이 오기를 바라던 왕이 있었어요.
For his world was still covered in snow
그 나라는 여전히 눈으로 덮여 있었기 때문이었어요.
But the Spring had not been for he was wicked and mean
하지만 그 왕은 사악하고 비열했기 때문에 봄이 오지 않았어요.
In his winter - fields nothing would grow
그의 왕국에 있는 겨울 들판에는 아무것도 자라지 않았어요.

And when a travellar called seeking help at the door
그런데 한 여행자가 문 앞에서 도움을 요청 했어요
Only food and bed for the night
오로지 식량과 하룻밤만 재워달라고 했는데
He ordered his slave to turn her away
왕은 하인을 시켜 그소녀를 쫓아 내버렸지요.

사월의 눈동자를 지닌 소녀를 말이에요.

Oh, oh, oh, on and on she goes through the winter`s night
오 오 그녀는 추운 겨울 밤새도록 가고 있어요.
The wild wind and the snow
모진 바람과 눈보라속에서
Hi, hi hi on and on she rides
말을 타고 달리고 또 달렸어요.

누군가 사월의 눈동자를 지닌 그 소녀를 도와주면 좋으련만..

She rode through the night till she came to the light
그소녀는 빛을 찾게될 때까지 밤새도록 말을 타고 달렸어요.
Of a humble man`s home in the woods
숲속에 있는 순박한 사람이 사는 집,
He brought her inside by the firelight she died
남자는 그소녀를 집안의 난로가로 데려왔어나 숨을 거두고 말았어요.
And he buried her gently and good
그리고 그는 그소녀를 정성을 다해 묻어 주었어요.

On the morning was bright all the world was snow white
아침이 되자 눈으로 덮인 온 세상이 환하게 밝아졌어요.
But  when he came to the place where she lay
그러나 그소녀가 묻힌 곳으로 찾아왔을 때
His field was ablaze with flowers
그의 뜰에는 꽃들이 울긋 불긋 피어나 있었어요
 On the grave of the girl with April in he eyes
사월의 눈동자를 지닌 소녀의 무덤위에. .

오 오 그소녀는 추운 겨울 밤새도록 가고있어요.

모진 바람과 눈보라 속에서

높이 높이 훨훨날아 그소녀는 이제 이 세상을 떠나고 없어요.
